Creating a nurturing and enriching environment in order
for our community's children to thrive.

While there are no reported cases of COVID-19 on Iowa State's campus, in Ames, or Story County at this time, we have recieved the following guidance from the Iowa Department of Public Health regarding the operation of The Comfort Zone.
Effecitve March 12, 2020 The Comfort Zone will be closed for the remainder of the spring semester.  Our plan is to resume The Comfort Zone services in the fall.  Thank you for your patience and understanding as we strive to protect the health of the children in our care.

Because we have a Registered Nurse on staff, you can be assured your child will receive the TLC and professional care necessary to assist them on their road to recovery from routine childhood illness.

Your child will recuperate in a home-like atmosphere with a flexible routine to meet individual needs.  Many age appropriate quiet activities are available for your child to choose from throughout the day.  If it comforts your child to have a special blanket, toy or movie from home, please bring it along.
Who can use the Comfort Zone?
  • The Comfort Zone may be used by all members of the greater ISU/Ames/Story County community.

What do I need to register for the Comfort Zone?
